RESEARCH QUESTIONS

Here we leave some research questions that we have done in order to make our project:

  • We wonder how did the change from vinyl to CD affected the way of working on the radios in Spain?
  • We want to know how the people reacted to this change.
  • Was this change gradually or it change to one day to other?
  • We want to know if the change leads a big spending of money to the consumers in this time.
  • Was this change done because of economic interest?
  • How could the CD success against the vinyl when the vinyl it is said by experts that sounds better?

Argument.

According to Pedro Luis Cenzano Diez (2013) “The vinyl record is a sound playback format based on mechanical analog recording. The discs could also be plastic, aluminum or other materials.”

Late last century, in 1887, a recording method called Gramophone is created.

This system allowed the recording of sounds from slots that were read by a needle. One of the first musicians who recorded with this system was the Italian Enrico Caruso.

In 1900, telegraph was established that recorded sound in a metal wire that moved between the poles.

In 1948, the vinyl record appears with a long form and had higher quality and nature of sound. (Florencia Mabel Elizarraga Secco, 8 de Julio de 2015).

By 1985, the vinyl record was displaced by the CD. All discographies began to edit everything on CD and vinyl aside, but still some companies continue editing in vinyl disk jockeys. (Ecured, n.d.).
